EJC Cryptography Support Forum / Guestbook
Hello!!
I have just downloaded the new ciphers and they are realy great.
Thank you and thank you again for a realy great encyption progam!!!
Just a quick message from a somewhat awed viewer of your fantastic website:
As well as being really impressed by your encryption program (I'm thinking in particular of its ease-of-use and lack of technical jargon), what struck me as most remarkable (and indeed, admirable), is the total lack of adverts, malware and popups.
Furthermore, the lack of adverts tells me a lot about the integrity of this website's creator. With a program which, judging from the numerous and entirely positive forum responses on this page, is both popular and highly promotable, I'm sure the temptation to, "sell out" must be ever-present, either by renting some of your website to other companies (in the form of internet ads), or indeed by going commercial yourself.
And so, to summarise. Some say that the combustion of fossil fuels will inevitably lead to the excessive production of greenhouse gases as well as gross atmospheric pollution. This is most likely true, but doesn't really pertain to this comment. I believe that ejc-cryptography is the way forward.
A vote for EJC is a vote against capitalist monopolism.
how hard would it be to modfy it to do the following
1 you encrypt something ( not really important ) and use the password field
2 in the program you put in provision for a key file (that hides what you really want hidden)
so if someone makes you decrypt it you can But because you don't use the key file only the not so important is decrypted not what you are really hidding.
anyway can you do it?
Thank you philip
Would I be correct in saying that you are suggesting a feature whereby the real encrypted message is hidden in some way, making a potential 'interceptor' think that the pretend message should be decrypted with the key supplied with the message, consequently leading to a false message being decrypted?
In other words, you would want to have the real message hidden somehow so that a false one is decrypted by the interceptor (using the conveniently supplied key).
This is certainly possible, but doesn't really increase the security of the process much, as it simply hides the real message. This is called steganography, and is worth looking up on the internet, as there are many programs available that can hide messages inside image files and so on.
Thank you for your message.
I downloaded today and works without problem. My question is once you encrypt the text then send by e mail, how the other person will decrypt the message? I guess they should have my key but how to send the key secuerly? Is it possible with the program?

Well, this is clearly the major problem with any key based encryption system, and key distribution has only really been solved through the advent of public-key cryptography. CryptoLab has no such facility for sending keys to your contacts, and it is suggested that you pre-arrange keys before using the program to send encrypted messages.
In the future EJC Cryptography will be releasing a tool to facilitate the secure distribution of keys (this may be included with future versions of CryptoLab). I hope this answers your question.
Hi I downloaded cryptolab yesterday and I wondered where I could find new plug-in cipher modules, some that isn't in the cryptolab installation.
I have been on your website as there stood in the help file but I could not find any new dll cipher modules.
P.S. I am sorry if there is some spelling or grammar mistakes I am Danish.
Thank you for downloading CryptoLab, Frederik! A comprehensive number of encryption modules are included with CryptoLab as you have discovered; these range from classical ciphers to modern day algorithms. To date only 1 additional module has been released - the Enigma machine implementation. It can be downloaded by clicking the link in the side menu on the 'Software' page.
In the meantime development continues on future EJC Cryptography products and updates. Look out for more encryption modules coming very soon!
Just an update to inform you that CryptoLab plug-ins for the Rail Fence Cipher and the Scytale transposition are now available for download! You can find them on the 'Software' page.
Being somewhat of an encryption novice, I hesitated before downloading CryptoLab, worrying that it would be far too technical for one of my limited capabilities. However, after running the program for the first time, I was delighted to discover the clear formatting and comprehensive help files that enabled me to encrypt my text files with ease. So, I guess what I'm really saying is, thanks very much for creating such an outstanding program! 10 out of 10!
I have a Google Mail email account and would like to use this with CryptoLab, but I can't get the settings to work. Can someone show me a standard setup? Thanks.
Online email hosts such as Google Mail require SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connections for you to send from your own account using another application. CryptoLab doesn't have its own built in SSL support, but is designed so that it can be easily be used with an external SSL client.
In the Help file for CryptoLab, there is a section about setting up this SSL client (we suggest using Stunnel - www.stunnel.org). It guides you through the setup process quickly and easily.
I hope this answers your question!
thanks for ver. 1.02, it works great, if you have a mailing list for updates or news, please add me.
if you have a wish list... add the option to save the encryption settings as a file or as default so that
the user will not have to choose the settings each time anew. thanks.
Thank you for your message. It is very likely that the ability to save a default startup state will appear in future versions of CryptoLab.
By acquiring a registration key your email address was automatically added to the mailing list; you will be notified when new versions/updates are released.
What was the name of that video editing software you have thats used by the BBC?
